LEADERSHIP
PASTOR
Bryan is married to Laura and they have five young children.

He originally trained as a school teacher at the University of Waikato (NZ) and then attended the Masters Seminary in California, USA where he completed a Masters of Divinity (M.Div) degree in 1996. He has since also completed a Doctorate of Ministry (D.Min) in Expository Preaching in 2008.

Bryan has previously pastored churches in both NZ and the UK. From 2008-2012 Bryan taught at Hamilton Christian School in Rototuna as a Bible Teacher for Secondary students (part time in 2011-12) but since Feb 2013, he and Laura serve River City Bible Church in a full-time pastoral role.
 
ELDERS
It is the intention of River City Bible Church, in the near future, to establish a plurality of Biblically qualified elders who, as a team, will share the responsibility for the oversight of the church (see Statement of Practice).

Until such time, the pastor will be assisted in his responsibilities by the interim leadership team, which will help guide the church in the process of appointing its future elders and also manage the church's practical and financial matters with wisdom and care. Guidance and support will also be called upon from time to time from mature believers, and elders of likeminded churches.

The Interim Leadership Team will provide accountability and utilize the wisdom that comes from collective counsel. The pastor will also endeavour to teach the congregation what the Bible says about elders, their role and responsibilities, and their necessary qualifications in order to prepare the church for identifying and developing its own elders who, under Christ, the head of the church, will faithfully shepherd God's people with integrity, wisdom and understanding.

UPDATE
The RCBC eldership selection process began on Feb 26th 2012. We originally hoped that an eldership team would have been established in August of that same year but it became apparent that further time was required. The Interim leadership team are therefore continuing to serve the congregation in leadership until another elder selection process is carried out in 2018. In the meantime our prayers and efforts as a church will be directed toward developing future leaders (2 Tim 2:1-2).
